Partner Terms
1. Who this is between
These Partner Terms are between Jobless ("we", "us") and the company or person that signs the Partner Agreement or creates an API key ("you"). They cover the Jobless Partner API at api.jobless.dev/partners and the portal at platform.jobless.dev (together, the "Service"). The Data Use Rules, the Privacy and Data Retention notice and the Data Processing Addendum are part of these terms.
2. What you get
- Access to the Service: job search, AI search, job details, market statistics and resume audits, as described in the docs.
- The credits stated on your Partner Agreement cover page, if any. Free or trial credits have no cash value.
- API keys for your own servers. You are responsible for every call made with your keys.
3. Credits and payment
- The Service is prepaid. Calls draw down your credit balance at the prices published in the docs. Unsuccessful calls (4xx and 5xx) are not charged.
- Purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase. Free and trial credits expire on the date on your cover page, or 12 months after they were granted.
- Purchases are final except where the law requires otherwise. We do not refund free, trial or unused credits.
- We may change prices with 30 days notice by email. Credits you already bought keep the price they were bought at.
4. What you may not do
- Break the Data Use Rules: no reselling, redistributing or bulk copying the job data, and no building a competing job database from it.
- Share keys outside your organization, put a key in browser or mobile code, or create accounts or keys to get around limits.
- Get around rate limits, daily caps or depth limits, or scrape the Service in any other way.
- Send resumes or other personal data you have no right to process, or use the Service to discriminate unlawfully.
- Probe, overload or attack the Service, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows.
5. Suspension and ending
- We may suspend or revoke keys at any time if we see abuse, a security risk, non-payment or a breach of these terms. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.
- Either side may end the agreement at any time by email. When it ends your keys stop working, unused free credits lapse, and sections 4, 7, 8, 9 and the Data Use Rules continue to apply.
6. Changes to the Service
We improve the Service continuously. Changes to API v1 are additive. If we must remove or break something you use, we will give paying partners at least 30 days notice by email and publish it in the changelog. We may update these terms; the version and date at the top change, and continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the update.
7. No warranty
The Service and all data are provided "as is" and "as available". Job listings come from third-party employers and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong; resume audits are automated opinions, not advice. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty of any kind, including availability, accuracy, fitness for a purpose or non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business.
- Our total liability for all claims under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. If you have only used free or trial credits, that amount is zero.
- Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud.
9. Your responsibility
You will cover us for claims, losses and costs that come from your use of the Service in breach of these terms, from the data you send us, or from how you use the data we return, including claims by your users or by regulators.
10. General
- This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Disputes go to the courts located in Delaware, United States.
- If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
- You may not transfer this agreement without our written consent. We may transfer it with the business.
- This agreement, its cover page and the documents it names are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- Notices go to the emails on the cover page, and to us at legal@jobless.dev.
Data Use Rules
You may
- Store job data and show it to the users of your own product, inside that product.
- Search, filter, rank and combine it with your own data for those users.
- Use statistics from the API in your product, reports and marketing, credited to Jobless.
You must
- Send applicants to the job url we return (the jobless.dev page with your ?ref=). Do not replace it with another link.
- Show "via Jobless" or the Jobless logo near job content you display.
- Remove a job within 24 hours of learning it is closed (a 410 from the API, or a closed event).
- Keep job data current: refresh what you show at least every 7 days, or drop it.
You may not
- Sell, license, share or give the raw job data, in bulk or by feed, to anyone else.
- Build or feed a job database, index or dataset that competes with Jobless or is offered to third parties.
- Use the data to train or fine-tune machine learning models offered to others.
- Remove or hide attribution, or present the data as your own original data.
When the agreement ends
Delete job data you stored from the API within 30 days, except where the law requires you to keep it.
Privacy and Data Retention
What we keep and for how long
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Request logs: time, endpoint, status, credits, latency, key name, request parameters (masked) | Usage, billing disputes, debugging, abuse prevention | 30 days, then deleted |
| Resumes and CV text sent to the audit endpoint | To produce the audit you asked for | Not stored. Processed in memory and discarded when the response is sent |
| Credit ledger: charges, grants, top-ups | Your balance and our accounting | For the life of the account, then as tax law requires |
| Account: team members' emails and roles, company name | Sign-in and contact | Until the account is closed, then 30 days |
| API keys | Authenticating your calls | Only a one-way hash and the visible prefix; never the full key |
| Payments and invoices (handled by our payment processor) | Billing and tax | As tax law requires |
What we never do
- Store resumes you send for audit, or use them to train models.
- Sell your data or your users’ data.
- Store full API keys or response bodies in our logs.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Partner data lives in a separate database from our consumer app, the API service runs with read-only access to job data, keys are stored hashed, and access to production is limited to the team that runs the Service.
Questions and requests
Email privacy@jobless.dev to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to delete your account. We answer within 30 days.
Data Processing Addendum
1. Roles
When you send personal data to the Service, mainly resume text for audit, you are the controller and we are your processor. We process it only to provide the Service and only on your documented instructions, which are your API calls and this agreement.
2. What we process
- Data subjects: the people whose resumes you send.
- Data: what the resume contains, such as name, contact details, work history, education and skills, plus the optional end_user_ref you choose.
- Purpose: producing the audit result returned in the same request.
- Duration: the length of the request. Resume content is not stored after the response is sent.
3. Your obligations
You confirm you have a lawful basis and any required notices or consents to send the data, and that you will not send special category data (such as health or religion) unless you have a lawful basis for it. Do not send more than the audit needs.
4. Our obligations
- Keep the data confidential and limit access to people who need it to run the Service.
- Apply appropriate technical and organizational security measures (see Privacy and Data Retention).
- Tell you without undue delay, and within 72 hours where possible, after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data.
- Help you, as far as reasonable, with data subject requests and data protection impact assessments.
- Use only the subprocessors listed below, and give 30 days notice by email before adding one so you can object.
5. Subprocessors
| Subprocessor | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Hetzner Online | Servers and databases | Germany (EU) |
| Cloudflare | Network, security, content delivery | Global |
| OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to | AI processing for resume audits and AI search | United States and other regions |
| OpenAI | Fallback AI processing | United States |
| Polar | Payments and invoices | European Union / United States |
| Resend | Sign-in codes and account email | United States |
6. Transfers outside the EU
Where data is transferred outside the EU or EEA, the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism offered by the subprocessor.
7. End of processing
Resume content is deleted at the end of each request. Request logs, which never contain resume text, are deleted after 30 days. On request we confirm deletion in writing.
